Description
Nos 7 and 8 Claremont Road are a pair of similar three-storey houses with a basement, built around 1840-1850. They feature stock brick above a tall, grooved stucco ground floor. The houses have a hipped slate roof with flat eaves supported by long shaped brackets. There is a sill band on the first floor, and each house has one window in a slight break. The ground floor has tripartite sashes with ornate scrolled cast iron flower guards, while the upper floors have marginal glazed single sashes set in architrave surrounds. The entrance bays, which are set back and have a returned sill band, are two storeys high with one window each and feature round arched pilastered porches with four-panel doors. Nos 1 to 10 form a group with Nos 1 to 23 and Holy Trinity Church.
