Description

Numbers 9 and 10 Claremont Road are a pair of houses dating from approximately 1840 to 1850. They are similar in style to numbers 7 and 8. The most distinctive features are the two-storey canted bay windows to the front, tripartite in design. Number 10 has a cornice and blocking course above the bay, while number 9 has a cornice supported on consoles over its ground-floor windows. The windows are marginal glazed sashes. The round-headed panelled pilaster porches, set in an antis, have decorative double vine leaf swags connecting the outer rings to a central lion's head, with ribbons adorning the rings. A cornice sits above the swags, and a panelled apron sits above the window. Numbers 1 to 10 form a group with numbers 1 to 23 and Holy Trinity Church on Trinity Place.
