Description

Two adjoining barns at Feens Farm, dating from the late 17th century and early 18th century, are located off Bath Road in White Waltham. The western barn features a timber frame with weatherboarding and an old tile half-hipped roof. The eastern barn is constructed from both brick and flint, showcasing decorative ventilation slots, weatherboarding on the south gable, and an old tile half-hipped roof. The earlier barn has five bays and includes a hipped central wagon entry with a large pair of doors and aisles on the east side. The later barn, which has eight framed bays, adjoins on the west and contains two hipped wagon entries with two large pairs of doors and aisles between on the south side. Inside, both barns have a queen post roof with two sets of purlins; the top purlin is clasped, while the lower purlin butts into the principal rafter. The later barn also features chiselled carpenters marks. The cart shed and cattle shed adjoining on the west and south are not of special interest.
