Description

This milestone, dating from the 18th century, is made of stone and has been re-set. It features incised Roman lettering on its east face, indicating distances to Reading (13 miles), Bath (82 miles), Henley (9 miles), and Oxford (32 miles). The west face displays distances to Hyde Park Corner (26 miles) and Colnbrook (9 miles). At the base on the front, it is marked with "Cookham Parish."
