Description

The Bear Hotel is an early 19th-century building of three storeys, situated on the north side of High Street. It is constructed of painted stucco, with a parapet and moulded cornice coping. The roof is slate covered. The upper floors have six double-hung sash windows with glazing bars, set in reveals and stone sills. Four similar, but wider, windows are present on the ground floor, with a central door sheltered by a late 19th-century glazed porch featuring a large carved wooden bear above the doorway.
