Description

The barn at Bothampstead Farm, located approximately 35 metres west of the farmhouse, is a late 17th-century threshing barn. It features a timber frame with a hipped thatched roof and is weatherboarded. The barn consists of six framed bays, with a waggon entry situated in the fourth bay from the left. The roof is supported by queen struts, clasped purlins, straight braces, and jowled posts. Attached to the east and at right angles is an early 19th-century barn, which is also timber framed and has a half-hipped roof covered with old tiles. This barn has four framed bays with aisles on both sides and a half-hipped tiled waggon entry located in the second bay from the right.
