Description
Walnut Tree Cottage is a cottage dating from the late 17th century, with a refronting from the late 18th century and some alterations and additions made in the 20th century. The building features brick on the east side and a timber frame with brick infill on the south, topped by a half-hipped thatched roof. It has an L-shaped plan, with a large 20th-century extension forming the northern arm. The cottage is one and a half storeys tall and has two gabled eaves dormers on the east side. There are end stacks on the north and south sides of the older part of the building. The east elevation has all casement windows with cambered heads: a three-light window to the left, a central two-light window that replaces a former door, and a two-light window to the right. There is a porch on the 20th-century extension to the right. The cottage is included for its group value.
