Description
Purton Stores is a house that has been converted into a shop and residence. It dates from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building features a combination of brick and timber framing with brick infill, topped by a thatched half-hipped roof. It has a long rectangular shape that runs from northwest to southeast and is one and a half storeys high.
On the southwest elevation, the left side has a shop front made of brick, with a three-light casement window and a glazing bar sash on either side of a central half-glazed door. Above, there is a three-light leaded casement window in the dormer. On the right side, the timber frame is exposed, featuring two three-light casement windows and a 20th-century door slightly off-center to the right, along with another three-light casement window in the dormer. The building also has a large central ridge chimney and an additional ridge chimney on the southeast side.
