Description
Eden Cottage is a cottage dating from the late 17th century, with alterations from the early 19th century and additions from the late 19th and 20th centuries. It is timber-framed and plastered, topped with a thatched roof. The cottage features a ridge stack made of red bricks and a gault brick stack on the left side. It has one storey and an attic, with a two-unit plan and an outshut to the east. The west elevation includes a 20th-century casement window, an entrance on the left through a flat-roofed extension, and one dormer window. Inside, the complete timber frame of three bays is exposed, featuring a hearth with a sealed baking oven and a niche with a shaped head, along with early 19th-century panelled doors. The cottage is included for its group value.
