Description

Moss Vale is a cottage that possibly dates back to the late 17th century, with a 19th-century extension at the rear and renovations from the 20th century. It features a timber frame with plaster and a thatched roof. The building has a red brick ridge stack and a gault brick stack on the left side. It is one storey with an attic, which may have had floors added to the original single-storey structure, and has a three-unit plan. The entrance is through a boarded door on the left, with three ground floor casement windows from the 20th century and one small window, along with a wide eyebrow dormer window. Inside, there are chamfered and stop-chamfered ceiling beams and joists, a relined open hearth, and a boxed staircase.
