Description

Avondale is a small cottage dating from the late 18th or early 19th century. It is timber-framed with a roughcast rendered exterior and a thatched half-hipped roof. A red brick ridge stack is present, along with a tarred brick plinth. The cottage is one storey high with an attic. The front features a central boarded door set within a latticed wooden gabled porch, and two ground floor casement windows. Two eyebrow dormer windows light the attic space. A projecting baking oven is located in the rear wall, covered by a tiled pent roof supported on two brick piers.
