Description

The Wilderness is a cottage that possibly dates from the late 17th century, with some additions made in the 20th century. It features a timber-framed and plastered structure with a red brick plinth and a thatched roof. There is a gault brick ridge stack located to the left of the center. The cottage is one storey and has an attic, designed with a three-unit plan and a lobby entry. The closed entrance porch has a glazed door, and there are two windows with glazing bars as well as one casement dormer window. Inside, the exposed floor frames are notable features.
