Description
129 Meldreth Road is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates from the 17th century and has undergone alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is timber-framed and covered in roughcast, featuring machine tile roofs and a single-storey thatched wing at the rear. It has a T-shaped layout, with the main front range originally consisting of three rooms on each floor running north to south, and a slightly taller rear wing extending westwards. There is a main brick stack at the junction of the two wings and a projecting brick end ridge stack at the south end, both from the 19th century. The east front has two storeys with three windows that are irregularly spaced, with wider spacing to the left of centre. A half-glazed door is set in a lean-to porch on the southwest side. Inside, the stack has been rebuilt, and the timber framing is concealed on the ground floor except in the rear range, where it is also visible on the first floor and in the roof.
