Description
Fieldhouse is a cottage dating from the late 17th century, with later additions. It features a timber-framed structure with plaster and a thatched roof, along with a painted brick ridge stack positioned to the left of the center. The building has brick foundations and is one storey high with an attic, arranged in a three-unit plan, and includes a slated rear outshut. There are two first-floor windows with glazing bars, while the ground floor and entrance are obscured by a 20th-century lean-to, with the main entrance located on the left side.
Inside, the cottage showcases stop-chamfered ceiling beams and exposed timber framing. There are back-to-back open hearths with steeply cambered mantel beams; the kitchen hearth features a baking oven recess and two shaped niches. Additionally, there is a semi-cellar in the rear outshut that has been recently boarded over.
