Description
The Old Post Office is a house and shop dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It features a gault brick facade, with a timber frame that is plastered at the rear and on the gable ends. The roof is covered with asbestos tiles, and there are red brick ridge stacks located to the left of center and on the right side. The building is two storeys high and has a three-unit plan. The shop is on the left side, with a four-panelled glazed door and a bowed shop window that has glazing bars. There is a six-panelled 18th-century house door located in the lobby entry position. To the right, there are two three-light casement windows set in recessed segmental brick arches, and on the first floor, there are three similar windows. The building is included for its group value.
