Description
Bridge House is a house and shop with associated outbuildings, now functioning solely as a house. The building dates from the early 18th century, while the shop section was added in the mid-18th century. It features a timber-framed structure that is roughcast rendered, topped with a thatched roof that has a ridge stack positioned to the right of the center; the upper courses of this stack have been rebuilt. The shop has a slate roof.
The building is two storeys high. On the ground floor, there is a three-light shop window and a glazed door to the left, along with a 19th-century four-panelled house door that has a shallow head. This door is flanked by two twelve-paned hung sash windows with shutters. On the first floor, there are four flush-framed twelve-paned hung sash windows.
Inside, there is a sealed hearth with a staircase located beside it at the rear. The main entrance has been sealed from the inside. Historically, the shop area was used as a butcher's shop.
