Description
Hillview Cottage and Rector's Cottage are two dwellings that form one range, built in the late 18th century. The cottages are timber-framed and plastered, topped with a plain tiled mansard roof and featuring a red brick stack on the right side. They stand two storeys high with attics and a cellar, which includes a tunnel cut into the natural chalk that leads to The Old Manor House. On the left side, there is a gable end outshut.
The front has two moulded six-panelled doors from the 19th century, three ground floor windows with eighteen panes each, hung as sashes and rebated for shutters, and one first-floor window with twelve panes, also hung as a sash. There is a two-storey canted bay window to the left of the centre with hung sashes, and a similar oriel window on the left side. A dormer window is also present, along with a coved plastered eaves cornice. Inside, the ceiling beams were originally boxed.
