Description

Poplar Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with alterations and additions made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It features a timber-framed structure that is plastered, topped with a thatched roof. The building has two rebuilt internal stacks and consists of one storey and an attic. There is a long range added to the rear in the 20th century, and to the right of the stack, there was originally a single storey bay. The front has a 20th-century panelled door on the right, three casement windows on the ground floor, and a dormer window with a sloping roof. Inside, there is an open hearth made of coursed limestone rubble and some dressed stones. The cottage is included for its group value.
