Description
Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates from the 17th century and early 18th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of timber framing with plaster and painted brick, featuring plain tiled, 20th-century tiled, and slated roofs. The main range is two storeys high and is a modification of the original three-unit plan, which includes a cross passage and a rear wing to the north-east that has been raised to two storeys and reroofed. There is also a rear kitchen wing from the 18th century located to the south-west.
The garden facade consists of three unequal bays and features a 19th-century panelled door, along with one eight-paned and one sixteen-paned wide hung sash window on the ground floor, and three sixteen-paned hung sash windows on the first floor. The front has a hipped slated roof with end stacks, while the original roof remains intact at the rear.
Inside, most details are from the 19th century, but there are some early 18th-century two-panelled doors and a large cooking hearth with an iron stove made in Northampton. Additionally, part of an original internal truss can be seen in the roof.
