Description

Three dwellings, originally a 17th-century farmhouse with a 19th-century addition, stand in Broughton and Molesworth. The buildings are timber-framed and plastered, with a section of 20th-century decorative plasterwork (‘pargetting’) and painted brick. The roof is thatched, featuring a red brick ridge stack to the left and a main ridge stack constructed of coursed limestone rubble with upper courses of brick, and a further two stacks to the right. The building is two storeys high. The original plan of the main range on the left was extended in the 19th century and subsequently subdivided into four cottages. From left to right, the facade exhibits a blocked doorway with an inserted window, two horizontal sliding sash windows with segmental brick arches, a four-panelled door, and a boarded door alongside two casement windows and two small fixed lights. Further along, a boarded door is present in the cross wing, accompanied by three first-floor horizontal sliding sash windows and two casement windows.
