Description

The Lodge is a cottage dating from the 16th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with a thatched roof. The building has one and a half storeys and features various old casement windows. There is a 19th-century door located at the north gable end and a central axial stack. Inside, much of the structure is exposed and consists of two bays. The upper floor and the stack are likely later additions. The cottage includes 17th-century newel stairs, and beside the stairs is a tall cupboard with a plank door on butterfly hinges. The roof is a clasped-purlin type, featuring arched collars and arched wind-bracing.
