Description
The barn at Little Barnetts Farm is a 18th-century threshing barn. It is timber framed and covered in weatherboarding, topped with a half-hipped tiled roof. The barn features a full-height cart entrance on the east side and a 19th-century gabled cart entrance on the west. It consists of four bays, with an aisle on the west side. Three of the bays date back to the 18th century and include upright posts with jowles and a cut profile. The wall frame has a midrail and diagonal tension braces. The roof is supported by angled queen struts and through purlins, and there is no ridgepiece. The northern end bay was added in the 19th century and is constructed with thinner scantling.
