Description

This is an 18th-century barn, with some earlier timber reused in its construction. It is timber-framed and weatherboarded, with a sandstone plinth. The barn has a half-hipped clay tile roof that is low over an east aisle or outshut. It consists of five bays, featuring a central boarded threshing floor and entries. The west side has a plain central entry. The east elevation includes a hipped roof to a central porch, which is weatherboarded. There are doors at each end of the outshut on the north side. A brick and timber plinth remains between the outshut and the main barn, and a boarded partition is visible at the south end. Notable features include jowl posts, some with beam braces. The wall framing displays arched braces, and the roof framing includes windbraces. Adjoining the barn on the north side is a lower 18th to 19th-century, three-bay, open-sided cartshed with a hipped plain tile roof.
