Description
Oates Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with 20th century additions. It features a timber frame with tile hanging, weatherboarding, and white painted brick nogging. An exposed queen post truss is visible on the east side, and the building has an old tile roof with a catslide over an outshut to the north. The cottage consists of two framed bays and is one storey high. There is a tile-hung gabled eave dormer on the southeast side with a first-floor casement window, and to the right, a two-light ground floor casement window. On the left, there is a gabled porch with a boarded door, and a one-storey gabled addition that includes a small casement window. Beneath the former, there is a two-light casement window on the south side.
