Description
The Saddlers is a house located in Stratfield Mortimer, dating from the 17th century and extended in the 19th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. The building features a combination of timber framing, brick refacing, and render. It has an old tile roof that is gabled and has a pent section. The layout is T-shaped with a baffle entry, consisting of two framed bays at the front and a lower extension on the north side. The house has two storeys and one storey, with a chimney positioned on the ridge to the left of the center. The east gable displays scattered 19th-century casement windows within the frame. The entrance front has two bays with 19th-century casements that include glazing bars, and it features a closed gabled entry porch with a doorway that is now blocked. Much of the timber frame is exposed internally.
