Description

Orchard Meadow Bridge is an accommodation bridge built in the late 18th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of brick and features a single elliptical arch, a band, solid parapets, and piers topped with stone and brick coping. The bridge also has a towpath retaining wall with brick coping. The Kennet & Avon Canal, which this bridge serves, was constructed between 1794 and 1810, with John Rennie as the principal engineer.
