Description
Nos. 22, 24, 26, and 28 on Station Road are cottages that were originally a smithy. They date from the 17th and 18th centuries, with some 20th-century alterations and extensions. The buildings are primarily constructed of brick, with some exposed timber framing in the gables. They feature a tiled roof that is half hipped at the ends and slopes down to the rear over the later extensions. The cottages are one and a half storeys tall and have three chimneys: one at each end of the ridge and one offset to the south.
On the west elevation, there is a gabled dormer on the left that breaks the eaves, and two cross gables in the center and right, each adorned with moulded bargeboards and finials. The center and right gables each have three-light 20th-century casements. On the ground floor, there are two-light 20th-century casements with cambered heads, one located at the far left, a door and casement in the center, and another casement with a door to the right, which is accompanied by a decorated gabled timber porch.
