Description
White Lodge is a pair of cottages that have been combined into one house. It dates from the early 17th century, with additions from the 18th and 19th centuries. The building features a mix of brick, painted render, and timber framing with brick and render infill panels, topped with tiled roofs that are half hipped on No. 30. The structure is in an L shape, with No. 30 having one and a half storeys and No. 32, known as White Lodge, having two storeys.
On the south elevation, No. 30 is on the left and has two gabled dormers at the eaves level, with a chimney positioned near the junction with No. 32. There is a two-light casement window to the left of a central door that is set in a cambered headed opening, and a three-light casement window to the right, all on a brick front. No. 32, on the right, is rendered and has two cross-glazed sash windows with exposed frames on the first floor. It also features a 20th-century glazed lean-to porch on the left and a glazing bar sash window with an exposed frame to the right. The rear and side of No. 30 reveal exposed timber framing.
