Description

This is an anti-tank pillbox located at the southeast corner of Garston Lock, built in 1940. It is a Type FW3/28 pillbox, designed by the War Office, and is one of a pair that were constructed to defend the lock. The structure is rectangular and made of concrete with permanent brick shuttering and concrete block. It is part of the Southern Command's GHQ Line Blue, which was established for the defense of the UK. The pillbox is included for its group value.
