Description
Shenfield Millhouse is a miller's house, now a residential property, dating from around 1800 and altered in the mid-20th century. The building is constructed of brick and features a hipped slate roof. It has an L-plan layout with a service wing at the rear and stands two storeys tall. There are two chimneys on the front part and two at the end of the wing. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, stone cills, and rubbed brick arches. The north-east front has three bays, with the central bay slightly projecting and featuring a mid-20th century glazed door. On either side of this bay are later 19th-century hipped, canted bays that contain pairs of French casements with glazing bars and sash windows on the returns.
