Description

No. 48 High Street is a house and shop that dates back to the 17th century, with a refacing from the 19th century. It features a timber frame that is rendered and has an old tile roof, which is higher on the right side. The building consists of two framed bays and stands two storeys tall. Notable architectural details include a dentil brick eaves cornice and a truncated stack on the left side. On the first floor, there are two glazing bar sash windows without horizontal bars, and on the ground floor, there is one glazing bar sash window to the left, also without horizontal bars. To the right, there is a recessed 20th-century shopfront that includes a plate glass window, a glazed door, and a fascia above.
