Description
The Falcon Inn is a 17th-century inn that was refaced in the early 18th century. It features a timber frame with a red brick facing adorned with grey diaper work, and has an old tiled roof. The building consists of four framed bays and is two storeys high. The gable is hipped forward to the left, with a coped parapet on the right side. There is an end stack located behind the ridge to the right and a ridge stack that is off-centre to the left. The façade has six bays with glazing bar sashes that have segmental heads and exposed wooden boxes. The third bay from the left on the first floor is blank but has a projecting bracket for a sign. The entrance is through a four-panelled door located in the third bay from the left, which features a radial fanlight and a doorcase with an architrave and Doric pilasters, complete with guttae and scrolled brackets above that support a flat hood. Additionally, there is a vehicular entrance in the first bay from the left, which has a segmental relieving arch and two 19th-century wooden gates.
