Description

No. 49 High Street is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is built of rendered brick and has an old tile roof. The building has two storeys, with rusticated quoins and a stack at the left end, as well as a stack at the rear right. On the first floor, there are two wide glazing bar sash windows, while the ground floor features two tripartite glazing bar sashes flanking a central four-panelled door topped with an arched tympanum. The doorcase is designed in the Gothick style, featuring clustered shafts with moulded capitals and bases, along with an open triangular pediment.
