Description

A late 18th and early 19th century house, now a post office, located on Broad Street in Portsmouth. The building is constructed of grey brick in a header bond, with red brick detailing. It has a flat-topped, hipped roof covered in plain tiles, featuring a rendered stack at the left end. The house is three storeys high, with an attic, and has two bays. A central entrance door is fitted with small panes of glass, flanked by canted shop windows with a tiled lean-to roof. The windows on the first two floors have 16 panes and are set beneath brick segmental arches, with shorter windows on the second floor. A brick band defines the first floor. A stone-coped parapet tops the facade, and a dormer with a flat roof is visible. The rear of the building is stuccoed and features two 16-pane sash windows. The interior remains uninspected.
