Description

This is a bollard located on the south side of the junction with Bathing Lane in Portsmouth. It is a cannon barrel that has been repurposed as a bollard. The bollard likely dates from the early 18th century but was reused in the mid to late 19th century. It is made of cast iron and features a tapering barrel set on end, resembling a similar barrel found at the north side of the Round Tower on Broad Street.
