Description
This is a late 18th or early 19th century house on Broad Street in Portsmouth. It is constructed of painted brickwork with a plain tile roof, with a brick stack on the right-hand side and a hipped roof to the right end. The house is three storeys high and has one wide bay. A six-panelled door, with mouldings, is positioned to the left, featuring an overlight with a circular glazing pattern and a reeded doorcase with flanking moulded panels. To the right of the door is a sash window set within a rendered architrave and surround, featuring a vermiculated keystone. A corniced band sits between the ground and first floors, below a bowed protrusion supporting a tripartite shallow bay oriel window on the first floor. This oriel window has a 12-pane sash, panelled strip pilasters dividing the lights, a frieze, and modillion detailing above. Twelve-pane sashes are also present on the second floor. A stone coped parapet tops the building. The interior has not been inspected.
