Description
The former barn to the north of Green Farmhouse is a late 18th-century building that has been converted into a restaurant and bar in 1993. It features a timber frame with weatherboarding and a red brick base, topped by a Welsh slate hipped roof, which has a half hip on the north face and a 20th-century brick stack on the right. The barn has a single-storey section to the north and a two-storey section to the south.
The west elevation includes four 20th-century four-light wide timber casements and, to the right of the far left window, a 20th-century two-leaf glazed door. The right return features two similar windows and a two-leaf entrance door. There is a 20th-century extension on the right with a timber casement that spans the full width of the wing and includes two dormers, along with additional 20th-century extensions at the rear.
Inside, the timber roof structure supported by posts is intact and has been restored, consisting of seven bays. Each truss includes a tie-beam with an arched brace that supports the purlins and principal rafters, along with a paired brace connecting the soffit of the tie-beam to the post. Aisles are present on both the east and west sides.
