Description

The Dore monument is a chest tomb located in the southeast corner of the churchyard of the Church of St Peter and St Paul, dating from around 1812. It is constructed from ashlar stone and features moulded corners, each adorned with vertical clustered rolls, and is capped with a quadruple beaded edge. The weathered top slab rests on a plinth. On the long side facing north, there is a raised oval plaque with an inscription that reads, "Sacred to the memory of Willm Dore who departed this life 18 August 1812 aged 37 years." The monument is currently covered with ivy.
