Description

Nos 14 and 16 London Road are a pair of red brick houses with blue diapering, likely dating to the mid-19th century, though reputedly built around 1814. A date stone inscribed with “M.F. over 1837 or 1857” and an illegible legend suggests the later date is more accurate. The houses have three low storeys and two windows each. They feature slate roofs with a distinctive toothed brick band at the eaves, and casement windows with curved heads, each using three lights. No 14 has a plank door with a knocker, while No 16 has a more recent door, both beneath common lintels.
