Description
Nos 100 and 102 Hailgate are two houses built around 1800. They are constructed of brown brick with red brick used for the quoins, window jambs, and band, topped with a pantile roof. The buildings are two storeys high and have three bays. Each house features two six-fielded-panel doors; the door for No 102 is centrally located, while the door for No 100 is immediately to its right. Both doors are set beneath overlights with radial glazing bars and have keyed, channelled wedge lintels above them. The outer bays have bow windows on brick plinths, which contain replacement windows but retain their original cornices and friezes with drop pendants. A first-floor band runs across the front, and there are 16-pane sash windows beneath keyed channelled wedge lintels. The eaves level gutter is supported by paired brackets. The gable coping has been renewed, featuring a shaped kneeler on the right side, and there are two ridge stacks. However, the gable ends and rear have been covered with unsympathetic rendering.
