Description
Yew Tree Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates from the 17th century, 18th century, and 19th century. It is built of coursed rubblestone, with most of the roofs thatched, although the left bay is slated and the rear additions are both slated and tiled. The southeast front features three bays and is two storeys high, with two dormers over the two right-hand bays. To the right of the main house is a three-bay stable range. The main front has three brick-surrounded sash windows with three panes each, and a six-panel door located between the right-hand bays, which is set within a modern stone-sided porch that has an old tiled roof. The two dormers are thatched and have tiled aprons. The thatched bays are from the 17th century and feature an old brick chimney on the right and a stack to the left of the door. The left bay includes a 19th-century slate-roofed addition. The stable range has a casement window with two lights on the ground floor of the left bay, and three lights at the eaves on the first floor, along with two stable doors that have fanlights above them. There is also a single-storey rear range made of stone, which extends from the centre bay of the house and has a slate lower part of the roof and old tile upper parts. Additionally, there is a further stone wing from the 18th century on the left bay with a slate roof.
