Description

Manor Farm House is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is constructed of coursed rubblestone and has a slated roof. The building features three bays and two storeys, including dormers. The layout follows a lobby entry plan, with the entrance located in front of the stack between the right-hand bays, and a gable stack on the left side.

The ground floor has tripartite sash windows from the 19th century. The entrance boasts a six-panel door set in a reeded architraved doorcase, topped with a moulded and dentilled hood supported by carved brackets, with later turned posts at the outer corners. On the first floor, there is a tripartite sash on the left, followed by three sashes with six panes each, except for the one above the door, which has four panes. The house also features three two-light dormers.

Inside, the left-hand ground floor room showcases spine and cross beams with massive 17th-century chamfers. There is a closed string staircase from the 18th century with turned balusters. At the rear, the first-floor room is used for harvest suppers and village functions, featuring a large tripartite sash window facing east and reeded doorcases. Additionally, there is a two-storey stone range at the southeast beyond a rear addition, which includes a brick stack from the 17th or early 18th century.
