Description

Elm Tree Cottage is a cottage dated 1763. It is constructed of rubblestone with a thatched roof and brick chimneys on either side. The cottage is one and a half storeys high, with two bays at the front. There is a single-bay rear range, also thatched. The central entrance has a six-panel door, with the upper four panels glazed. Two-light casement windows are located above, cut into the thatch. A datestone above the door is set within a moulded and corniced frame and inscribed 'J.H, A.H, 1763'. The rear range has a thatched roof that was altered in the 1970s.
