Description
Number 1 (May Cottage) and Number 3 are a pair of cottages dating from the 17th century, with Number 1 having been altered in the 19th century. They are constructed of rubblestone, with Number 1 being colourwashed, and feature thatched roofs. Each cottage consists of two bays and two storeys. Number 1 has a central door made up of two vertical panels and a bracketed hood above it. The windows are three-pane sash types with narrow margin glazing. In contrast, Number 3 has a central boarded door and three-light casement windows, with two-light casements on the upper floor. Both cottages have brick chimneys located to the south and in the centre. The south gable of Number 1 is coped on kneelers, and it also has a lean-to rear addition.
