Description
Sherington Place is an 18th-century house with a dressed limestone facade and coursed rubble on the flanks and rear. It has two storeys, plus cellars and an attic, topped with an old tile roof and featuring three bays. The central entrance has a six-panel door with a lozenge pattern glazing in the fanlight above, set within a doorcase that includes cross-reeded pilasters with capitals and similar brackets supporting a cornice hood. Access is via a flight of seven moulded stone steps, accompanied by a 19th-century cast-iron railing. The windows are four-pane sashes with keystones, and there is a three-pane window above the door, all featuring keyed heads. The building has a band course and moulded eaves, with brick chimneys on either side. Inside, there is a notable 18th-century staircase.
