House Dated 1595, altered and extended to south. Coursed rubblestone and old tile roof. 3 bays with centrally located staircase tower at rear. 2 storeys with attic. At rear modern flat roofed 2 storey addition and to south late C17 single storey cottage of 2 bays. West elevation has central entrance with modern open gabled porch on posts. C19 triple casements with single horizontal central glazing bar. Coped gables and end- stacks. Cottage has central door and tile roofed porch, similar windows. At rear staircase tower has timber mullioned 2-light windows to 1st and 2nd floor levels with heavy chamfers, 1595. Also one rear 2-light mullioned window to south 1st floor room, also of 1595. Interior 1595 heavily chamfered door frames into stair tower. 1st floor has cross beams and spine beams with heavy chamfers and moulded stops. It appears that the upper floor was originally open from end to end. On ground floor are similarly stopped and chamfered cross-beams. 1595 roof structure intact. On west front flanking first floor centre window are 2 stone plaques, the left hand one with fleur-de-lys, the right with '1595'. [RCHM II 261 MON 3]
