Description

The White Hart Inn is an 18th-century inn, altered in the 19th century. It is constructed of colourwashed rendered rubble stone with an old tile roof. Originally a two-storey building, it was later raised by adding a front wall of brick, which was then rendered over. The inn now has three bays. The south front features a six-panelled centre door within a doorcase of plain pilasters, a frieze, and a cornice hood. Canted bay windows with four-pane sashes are present in the outer bays, while the first floor has five-pane sashes. A string course runs above, marking the former eaves line, above which are three flat-roofed dormers with four-pane sashes. Brick stacks flank the building. Rubble stone is exposed on the rear elevation.
