Description

Sherington Bridge over the River Ouse is an 18th-century bridge that has undergone repairs, with parapets removed and a concrete deck introduced around 1972 to widen it. The bridge is constructed of dressed rubblestone and features three central arches with keyblocks, which are divided by rusticated pilasters that support a string at the base of the former parapet. On either side, there are angular bays on cutwaters, leading to a single brick arch that serves the approach causeways. The concrete deck and parapets have been added but do not interfere with the main 18th-century structure, aside from the removal of the stone parapets.
