Description

The Manor House is an 18th-century farmhouse, with alterations dating to the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone with slate roofs. The main block is three storeys and four bays wide, with a lower two-bay west wing and a 19th-century rear block. A circa 1840 door is set within a rectangular porch featuring piers, an entablature, and a blocking course. It has sash windows, with an arched staircase window located in the second bay. Render strips are present at each end of the building. Central and flanking stacks are visible. The lower west wing has two bays of sash windows and a central door. The rear block has panelled eaves with reeded strips and decorative soffits, and includes tripartite and modern sash windows. The interior features an early 18th-century oak closed string staircase, ascending from the first floor. The ground floor to first floor stair flight has three balusters per tread. A room on the first floor to the left hand side retains 18th-century panelling.
