Description

This is a nonconformist chapel, dating from 1822, with attached cottages positioned on either side. The chapel is constructed primarily of chequer brick, with some stone dressings and a slate roof. The north front has two storeys and three bays. The central bay features a flush double door with six panels, set within a stone arch with a key block. Above the door is a round stone panel. The outer bays contain arched windows with two lights, featuring interlacing leading, also framed by stone arches with key blocks. A dentilled pediment displays the date panel "Sherington Chapel 1822". Flanking the main chapel are lower, two-storey wings with hipped slate roofs. Each wing features one bay with similar, but smaller, leaded and arched windows. Dentilled eaves run along the sides of the entire building.
